4 questions every wholesale buyer should answer — before placing the order.

Hey {{first_name}} 👋

Quick story. A customer of mine dropped $18,000 on a SKU last spring. Beautiful product. Great margin on paper. Wrong audience. Nine months later it was still sitting in his warehouse, eating shelf rent.

The mistake wasn't the product. It was that he didn't run it through these four questions first. None of them take more than 30 seconds. Together, they've saved my buyers more money than every "deal" they ever chased.

"A great wholesale deal you can't sell is just expensive shelf decoration."

The 4 questions

1. Does this fit my actual customer — not my ideal one? The customer you have on Tuesday afternoon, not the one you wish walked in.

2. Can I afford the MOQ if it sits 90 days? Every order has a worst-case scenario. Pre-price it before you commit.

3. What's my real breakeven price? Landed cost + 20% safety buffer. If your sell price can't clear that, walk.

4. When am I reordering if it moves? Knowing this before order #1 means you never stock out on a winner.
